Frequently asked questions

Have a question about Collingwood Toy Library? We've answered some below. If you can't find the answer you are looking for please get in touch and we will be happy to assist you.

  • Do all members need to volunteer?
We do ask members to help as it is a great way to get to know how the toy library works, our team and the toys on offer! It can be any family member or carer who helps and children are welcome to accompany them. If volunteering during sessions doesn't suit you please chat to us about other ways that you can help out. To sign up to volunteer, log in to your account and go to 'Volunteer History' or chat to us when you visit the toy library about when and how you could help.
  • How can I become more involved?
Events: The committee organises a number of community events during the year and they are a lot more fun if they are well supported. So please come along and bring your friends and family! Spread the word: There's nothing like a good recommendation from a friend! If you love the toy library and our events one of the best things you can do is tell your friends and family about us and encourage them to come along too. Social media: You can like us on Facebook and follow us on Instagram – this is a great way to see what we are up to and help share the toy library joy. Join the Committee: The Collingwood Toy Library is run by a volunteer committee of management that meets monthly in the evening. All members are welcome to join the committee.
  • Can I gift a membership?
Yes! A membership is a great gift for any family. You can either grab a voucher at our Abbotsford branch or email us.

  • Can I donate toys?

Donated toys don’t need to be new, but they do need to be strong and easy to clean (we don’t take soft toys or teddies). We also don’t accept merchandise or licensed toys associated with movies or television. Please chat to one of our coordinators or email them, before donating.
