The Collingwood Toy Library is moving!

From Saturday 26 May 2012 we will be operating from a new, bigger space as part of the Collingwood Football Club's community centre at Victoria Park in Abbotsford. That's on the corner of Lulie and Abbot Streets (see map below).

It's easy to get there via Johnston St or Trenerry Cres or even the walking bridge over the freeway from Clifton Hill. Victoria Park train station is right there, too.

With the support of the City of Yarra we have engaged the following child development experts to speak about various aspects of play and their importance to your child’s development. Come along and learn more. We’d love to see you there!

7.30 - 8.30pm, Tuesday 15 May
Kids will be kids
Dr Shona Bass

Shona is an internationally recognised expert with a PhD in children’s growth and development and Director of Early Life Foundations.
She will discuss how play, and you, can help your children enjoy growing up.

Developing resilience through play
Anne Muscatello

Anne is a qualified early childhood specialist and is responsible for developing and facilitating The Circle of Friends Program – Social Skills and Resilience Program.
Anne will present on how resilience can be developed through play and the benefits of resilience to children.

7.30 - 8.30pm, Wednesday 8 August
Setting limits
Dr John Hunter

John is a paediatrician specialising in children’s behaviour.
He will discuss how to set limits and boundaries for kids in a loving and positive way.

7.30 - 8.30pm, Thursday 6 September
Screen time: how much is too much?
Kathy Walker

Kathy is a renowned early childhood educator and the Principal and Founding Director of Early Life Foundations.
She will speak on how to promote play at home, minimise screen time and get your kids interested in play.

Held at the Reading Room, Fitzroy Town Hall.
Entrance on the corner of 201 Napier and Condell Streets, Fitzroy.

Toy Library membership is not a requirement.

The Collingwood Toy Library is a community owned resource for families in the City of Yarra and surrounding areas that has been incorporated since 1992. Since then more than 2000 families have been part of the Collingwood Toy Library.

The Collingwood Toy Library promotes the educational value of play for young children and encourages positive adult/child interactions through the provision of quality toys, games and equipment from birth to the first years of primary school.

With a membership to the Collingwood Toy Library you can easily meet the ever-changing and growing needs of your child at each stage of development.

The Collingwood Toy Library is a great place to meet other parents and to learn about the importance of play as well as to borrow from our extensive range of toys.

The Collingwood Toy Library lends a wide range of quality toys, puzzles and games for a yearly fee, saving families money, storage space and waste, while reducing our carbon footprint.

Every family with young children in and around the City of Yarra is welcome and supported to become a member of the Collingwood Toy Library.
